Version 0.4.28 (27-May-2003)
Version 0.4.27 (25-May-2003)
This version has a few more bug fixes in it. This is a release
to stabilize the 0.4.x series in preparation for the pmwiki-0.5
which will have new page formatting routines installed.
Version 0.4.26 (18-May-2003)
A variety of bug fixes and minor feature improvements:
- bug fix with inlined <img> tags
- bug fix in WikiTrails with single-word page names
- disabled IE's escape key in page edit form
- modified pgcust.php algorithm to understand Group/ with no page name
- added hspace and vspace WikiStyles for images
Version 0.4.25 (9-May-2003)
- bug fix in search.php formatting of $PageSearchFmt
Version 0.4.24 (6-May-2003)
This release also has some potentially significant changes:
- The search.php script now organizes the search results by group. By default each group is headed by a link to the group's home page. The format of the group headers is controlled by $SearchItemGroupFmt and the items are controlled by $SearchItemListFmt.
- The default list output by the search routine is now a definition list (<dl>) instead of an ordered list. This is controlled by $PageSearchFmt.
- All of the variable initializations related to searching ($PageSearchFmt, $SearchItemListFmt, $SearchTagFmt) have been moved out of pmwiki.php and into search.php. LocalCustomizations which relied on these variables already being initialized by pmwiki.php must now either manually
include_once('scripts/search.php')
or define the entire variable.
- Fixed the search pattern so that a lone '-' in the search string is treated as a search for a hyphen.
- The pgcust.php script for PerGroupCustomizations? is now included by default in scripts/stdconfig.php. This inclusion can be disabled by setting $EnablePerGroupCust=0 in local.php. Existing configurations which manually included scripts/pgcust.php should not be affected by this change (please let Pm know if this is not true for you).
- Fixed a bug in the $FreeLinkPattern that would cause timeout problems when freelinks were missing a closing brace.
- The [[#anchor]] markup has been moved from $InlineReplacements to $LinkPatterns[780].
Version 0.4.23 (1-May-2003)
This version has a number of significant changes:
- A new search algorithm has been implemented, and the search code has been largely moved out of the pmwiki.php file and into scripts/search.php. The new search algorithm allows searches for phrases, negative matches, and restricting searches to specific groups.
- Added an $AuthFunction variable to allow an administrator to specify a custom authentication function.
- The structure of the $LinkPatterns array has been completely redone. The first index of the array is now a "sequence" number that is used to order the entries in the array. The sequence numbers in pmwiki.php start at 200 (mailto: links) and increase to 800 (WikiWords without groups). Thiswiki.php and upload.php make their entries at 100 and 120 respectively. If you don't know what any of this means, it probably doesn't affect you.
- Added documentation page for [[table]] markup (thanks to Janice Heinold).
- Added $TableCellAttr variable to allow attributes of || cells to be set by the wiki administrator (suggested by Ross Kowalski).
- Some minor bug fixes.
Version 0.4.22 (26-Apr-2003)
This version adds .htaccess files to the scripts, local, wikilib.d, and
wiki.d directories. These files prevent a web browser from accessing
files in these directories directly (i.e., by bypassing the pmwiki.php
script).
This version also allows the local.php file to be stored in the "local"
subdirectory.
Version 0.4.21 (23-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.20 (21-Apr-2003)
This is primarily a cleanup and stabilizing release following a quick
series of updates and bugfixes resulting from the upload.php module
added in 0.4.15. More overall documentation has been added, and the
error messages when
PmWiki aborts due to various errors now include
links to pages on pmichaud.com that describe the error (and possible
fixes) more completely. The installation procedure has been improved
somewhat to provide more options for configuring directory permissions,
and to guide installers towards better installation configurations.
Version 0.4.19 (20-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.18 (20-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.17 (19-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.16 (19-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.15 (18-Apr-2003)
First releases containing the upload.php script. Upload.php is still under development and may be somewhat unstable over the next few releases. This release is being made to provide others with an opportunity to review upload.php and provide feedback and improvements. See
UploadsAdmin for details about configuring uploads.php.
This release also contains diag.php, which may be useful in providing diagnostic output to
PmWiki developers for sites that run into configuration difficulties.
Version 0.4.14 (14-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.13 (13-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.12 (13-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.11 (12-Apr-2003)
Added mailposts.php to enable automatic email notification of new posts, and updated notify.php script. Thanks to Neal Lundgaard for the suggestion.
Version 0.4.10 (10-Apr-2003)
Version 0.4.9 (09-Apr-2003)
Provided variables to allow wiki administrators more control over URL markups.

Version 0.4.3 (13-Mar-2003)
Version 0.4.2 (13-Mar-2003)
Double-bracket links now work in
WikiTrails.
Version 0.4.1 (12-Mar-2003)
Version 0.4.0 (07-Mar-2003)
Pm is quite pleased to announce the 0.4.0 release of
PmWiki.
WikiAdministrators should carefully read the notes below before upgrading to this new version of
PmWiki, as some substantial changes have been incorporated into this release.
- The major change in this release is the introduction of FreeLinks, and the associated changes to the link-handling code in pmwiki.php that also resulted from that. Any installations that relied heavily on the link-handling code or the Anchor() subroutine (which no longer exists) will need to be redesigned/rewritten. On the other hand, the new link-handling subroutines makes it much easier to customize links.
- Site administrators can select how wiki links will be rendered by setting the $WikiPageFmt, $WikiPageCreateFmt, and $WikiPageCreateSpacesFmt format specifiers. The first variable specifies the rendering for links to existing pages, the second is the links to be rendered to non-existent pages, and the third is the rendering of links to non-existing pages that have spaces in the anchor text.
- Several pages that were in the Main group are now either in the PmWiki group or eliminated. This includes Main.TextFormattingRules, Main.TipsForEditing, Main.WikiGroup, Main.WikiGroups, Main.WikiHelp, Main.WikiWikiWeb, Main.WikiWord, and Main.WikiWords. In particular, existing installations may need to adjust the WikiHelp link in any CustomHeadersAndFooters that have been created.
- If upgrading from a previous version of PmWiki, administrators may wish to remove the files from wikilib.d (careful--not wiki.d!) prior to copying the upgrade files. This will remove wiki pages that are no longer part of the PmWiki distribution.
- The
standard.php
script that was introduced in 0.3.15 is removed in this release and replaced with stdconfig.php
. The stdconfig.php
script is automatically included by pmwiki.php
unless $EnableStdConfig=0 in local.php
. In future releases, commonly-used and standardized features of PmWiki will be configurable by setting $Enable... variables in local.php
.
- WikiTrails and WikiStyles are now automatically included by default in
stdconfig.php
.
- New ^|...|^ and <|...|> markups have been added for WikiTrails (suggested by John Rankin).
- Added $Title_ and $Tlink substitutions for FmtPageName and format variables. $Title_ provides the true title of the page, $Tlink will render a page's title as a FreeLink (i.e., with curly braces) if it's not a WikiWord.
- Added a markup to act as a target for urls.
- The Edit Page form now has an EditQuickReference below the edit box.
- Substantial amounts of documentation updates have been performed. Please feel free to make further improvements and suggestions on the official pmichaud.com site. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the documentation effort!
As always, feel free to send messages to the
[email protected] mailing list if you have questions, comments, or suggestions.
